OUR SCHOOL

Welcome to Dolores T. Richardson Elementary School located on the former campus of K. Anthony School. We are an established private school in the heart of Inglewood servicing TK through 6th-grade students. At DTR we celebrate our school and community. It is our goal to help every student realize their highest potential.

The atmosphere at our school is warm and caring, which makes students feel comfortable about learning. We provide routines and procedures that create the structure needed to give children a strong academic foundation. Together with you, our staff will support the strong values you have instilled in your children.

Our Story

In 2022, Derek Richardson purchased K. Anthony Elementary School. As a tribute to his mother, he renamed the school Dolores T. Richardson. From the time his now adult children first started attending K. Anthony to the present, Mr. Richardson has devoted many years and much effort to this community. Throughout the years, he’s built longstanding ties and cultivated meaningful relationships with educators, administrators, parents and children. Mr. Richardson continues to support hundreds of this community’s children through his foundation, Why Can’t We Make a Difference. His commitment to provide children with relevant education guides him on his mission of making a difference in as many lives as possible.

A Tribute to our Lineage

K. Anthony Elementary School was constructed in 1975 using a former nightclub at 8420 Crenshaw Boulevard. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Margaret and Brady Johnson, Keith Anthony, is the recipient of the school’s name. At first, students in grades one through four were supposed to attend the elementary school. When the school expanded, a fifth grade was added in an annex in 1978, and the sixth grade was added at a later year. Since that time, the preschool and elementary schools have supported the principle and objective that each year should demonstrate progressive yet accelerating growth.
